We often fit our frameless slide and fold doors as a better option to bifolding doors and as a more flexible alternative to a sliding patio door. If you live in a property that only has a smaller set of doors to the outside is it possible to enhance your home with all the advantages of a frameless slide and fold door? Take a look at our frameless French Doors.
Replace your smaller doors with Frameless French Doors.
If you have an existing set of double doors, we can provide you with a better door option by fitting one of our frameless French Doors, designed as a two-panel slide and fold door.
Compared to aluminium two-panel bifolds, our frameless slide and fold doors we think are better.
The main benefit of frameless French Doors compared with a two panel bifold is improved aesthetics. Study most two-panel aluminium bifolds that fold in one direction, and many need an additional section on the one side. This additional profile is called a ‘floating mullion’ and adds extra bulk on the locking side of the doors. It also makes a two-panel bifold look uneven. Frameless French Doors in the slide and fold design do not need a floating mullion.
A better French Door with a frameless slide and fold.
Even the latest slimline aluminium French doors consist of an aluminium frame and a minimum of 60mm on the door leaf. In the closed position a set of French doors can show over 100mm of aluminium on the sides and where the doors meet in the middle.
The same applies to a set of French doors in the open position. Any aluminium or PVCu door is governed by the hinges and how far they can hinge back. Many traditional French doors and single doors hinge back only as far back as the hinges allow. This can be even less when the doors are set back in the brickwork.
A frameless French Door makes the most of the available brickwork opening.
Frameless slide and fold doors give you a better view.
Even with a standard French door opening as small as 1200mm you enjoy a maximum possible view to the outside. Our frameless slide and fold doors feature two large glass panels. There is a slimline aluminium frame to the perimeter only with the choice of a low or ultra low threshold.
In the closed position, there is no visible mullion associated with standard PVCu or aluminium doors.
In the open position, your new frameless slide and fold doors stack neatly to the one side and take up significantly less space than a typical door held open at ninety degrees.
Frameless French doors with security and weather resistance.
Our patented doors have been independently tested for weather resistance and security. Despite the frameless design and the lack of mullion (where other doors lock), there is no loss of security. Weather performance is also excellent.
And just like aluminium, you can enjoy a full choice of over 150 different colours as well.
